Project Description

This garden has been completed in June 2014 and the main planting borders are filling out well.
The garden at the front of the property has been designed to compliment the Arts and Crafts inspired feel to the house, drawing on traditional materials and techniques.

The rear garden which is edged with a stand of large Scot’s pines and has a flat roofed existing garden building with a Japanese feel  has used the same traditional materials in a slightly different mix to blend with the front garden yet take on its own unique character and reflect its sense of place.

The rear  garden has been designed for a family for relaxation and enjoying life outdoors.

The western red cedar pergola provides shade in summer and protection in other seasons.  This enables this contemporary outdoor dining with a great cooking space to be much used, from fun gatherings at Halloween and bonfire night through to salad and pizza in summer.

The cooling water wraps around the main terrace providing reflections of the sky.  The rough textured boulders contrast with the smooth yorkstone paving and brick detailing.
