This beautiful Victorian property has been lovingly renovated with great attention to detail and traditional crafts. This is a new garden, planted in autumn 2024 and the planting has yet to full establish and fill out. Nevertheless the structure and atmosphere is already starting to show.
Climbing plants had taken over as you can see in the ‘before’ shots and some walls are just too beautiful to be lost under foliage, instead such walls can create beautiful backdrops for pretty planting. Here the overgrown planting was also taking light away from inside the house and the storage box needed to find a new position away from a key view out into and within the garden.
The image below shows what a newly planted garden looks like. Planted with space between to allow the plants to grow to their full height and spread. The bare soil needs to be kept free of weeds and the new plants watered as they adjust to life away from the plant nursery where they receive all the water they need. Overtime the planting will knit together and the full design realised, but that takes time.
