RHS Hampton Court Flower Show

Zoflora: Outstanding Natural Beauty

In 2016, we created a show garden for the RHS Hampton Court Flower Show for our clients Zoflora. Our brief was to create a garden inspired by Yorkshire and we chose to depict the beautiful patterns in the Yorkshire landscape with its iconic drystone walls, high-rolling hills and meandering paths and rivers.

At one end, weathered steel ‘tree roots’ flow into a weathered Yorkstone seating area created a focal point for the main terrace, surrounded by ‘gardenesque’ planting reminiscent of the colourful gardens in the Yorkshire villages. A gently curving water feature running beside this contemporary planting then flowed into a wilder, more naturalistic area of the garden, emulating the meadows, pastures and woodlands of the Yorkshire landscape sculpted over time by natural elements. These ‘flows’ of water and planting blended the formal and informal elements of garden together.

We were delighted to be awarded a Gold Medal for the garden from the RHS (Royal Horticultural Society) and Best Construction reflecting the design detailing and specification.
