Project Description

As seen in The Independent.
The clients wanted a family garden but where they could entertain away from the children’s play equipment but within easy sight. The main dining terrace is surrounded by low planting that is easily seen through but which acts as a gorgeous buffer.

The beautiful ceramic was by sculptor Dennis Kilgallon entitled ‘Proud’. The sculpture nestles amongst the mixed herbaceous perennial and ornamental grass border.
A neighbours high hedge becomes a dark green backdrop to the specimen yucca, with the yucca bringing scale to the height of the hedge.
The garden is split into several zones. A productive area with glasshouse and raised beds for fruit and vegetable growing. A formal rose garden shields this area from view from the house. A wide lawn, with shade beneath a mature English oak, gives space for trampolines, swings, slides and ball games.
